In February 2001, the ska band The Slackers released their album Wasted Days in two different forms: a CD with 16 tracks and a vinyl LP with 9 tracks. The album cover is a photograph showing Miki Stroman reading a comic titled Wasted Days.
The song “Fifteen” appears on the vinyl version only, as the third track. In it, a 50 years old man has a love affair with a young girl, and his impressions mingle with his memories from the time when he was aged 15. It is hinted that he is locked in a “cell” in an “awful place,” but we can only guess.
Here is a musical video of the song from YouTube:
Here are the lyrics from AZ Lyrics:
I remember those things you said
Not so long ago
And I can dream of our wedding bed
And days to come and know
The things I seen at just fifteen
The things I’d seen at just fifteen
The things I see at just fifty
I wait for you when you come from school
I walk you home each day
Lonely things you’ll never know
Hide my love away
Playgrounds I see in your eyes
And now from so long ago
The things I’ve see at just fifteen
The things I seen at just fifteen
The things I’ll see at just fifteen
Playgrounds I see in your eyes
And now from so long ago
Oh my darling, I’m hoping all is well
I can’t wait to see your little face
This here’s lonesome inside this cell
It’s just a awful place
The things I seen at just fifteen
The things I see at just fifteen
The things I see
At just fifteen
At just fifteen
The things I see
At just fifteen
Oh yeah baby
Oh at just fifteen
You can call me anytime you like
Yeah
Oh at just fifteen
Got my number
