Poets and Lovers was created on March 17, 2019 and went online on the 20th. Since then it has continued to exist with a few interruptions due to changes of web hosts. In my editorial of March 22, 2024, I explained that I had nearly exhausted the sources of my contents and got no input from other contributors, so the site would henceforth be hibernating, new articles would appear on an irregular basis. Indeed, for more than one year, I published on average about one article per month. But recently, the posting frequency has surged.
In that same editorial, I announced that the three sites Pigtails in Paint, Graham Ovenden and Garage Press, which had been managed by the same host, had disappeared due to the failure of their latest host. In a comment to that post last January, the creator of the Graham Ovenden and Garage Press sites announced that he took the initiative to recreate them: see here and here.
One year ago, I informed readers that in May 2024 the police had raided the home of the Editor of Pigtails in Paint and arrested him, pretending that they had found “hundreds of child pornography images and several electronic devices believed to contain more child pornography images in a digital format.” Since then, the trial took place, and the Editor was acquitted. There was no “child pornography,” only art. Making an indictment on false charges that are later dismissed in court is a classical method of intimidation, and indeed, the Editor is now in no mood of launching the site again.
These good news should encourage the dissemination of art and poetry related to younger girls. Let us hope that the atmosphere will start being more propitious to art, love and life.
