Aferwards, nothing more from her appeared, until her fifth collection Swear by the Night and Other Poems published in 1936. Jean-Michel Caradec est un auteur-compositeur-interprète français d’origine bretonne, né le 20 septembre 1946 à Morlaix (Finistère) et mort le 29 juillet 1981 à l’hôpital de Rambouillet (Yvelines), après un accident de la route. Il composa et interpréta de nombreuses chansons de 1969 à 1981, dont 8 albums.
Il rencontra le succès en 1974 avec son deuxième album (label Polydor, référence 2473 035, avec deux versions de couverture, voir ici et ici), intitulé Ma petite fille de rêve d’après le titre de sa première chanson. L’éditeur et libraire Léon Vanier, né à Paris le 28 décembre 1847, et mort dans la même ville le 11 septembre 1896, reste célèbre pour avoir publié les poètes symbolistes, les écrivains « Modernes » et « Décadents » de son temps. Fin 1882 il rencontra Paul Verlaine, et il édita les œuvres du poète à partir de 1884. La relation entre les deux hommes connut des frictions, mais resta fidèle.
Vanier avait épousé le 3 juillet 1879 Marguerite-Sidonie-Louise Favrot, et le couple eut trois enfants, la troisième étant Jeanne, née le 15 novembre 1890. Dans la deuxième édition de sa collection Dédicaces publiée en 1894, Verlaine inclut un poème dédié à celle-ci, daté d’avril 1894, quand Jeanne avait trois ans et demi. I have presented the song “Don’t Stand So Close To Me” by The Police, relating the temptation of a love affair between a schoolgirl and her teacher. Indeed, the band’s lead singer Sting had previously worked as an English teacher, and he had noticed 15-year-old girls fancying him.
